From what I've seen Overwatch is almost certainly an FPS, in the team-based style of TF2. None of this hero brawler nonsense.

Nah, from what I've seen it's more in line with Monday Night Combat, aka MOBA-FPS style. And that itself was basically TF2 as a MOBA.

Overwatch isn't really like a moba at all. Besides abilities on cooldowns and ults that build up with damage and time, it's a pure fps in TF2 style.

We wouldn't even have to have this argument if riot had tried to coin a less 'cover every remotely similar game' acronym.

They could have called it a "Game where you destroy towers and sometimes a dragon or big worm with your team while that little yortle bastard plants exploding mushrooms every damn where, and your team calls you derogatory names for not being omnipotent." 

But then that would have been too specific and you would hardly need lawyers then.

EDIT: Yes that name when through like 5 diffrent revisions as memories flooded back to me about why I hate that damn game.

Yes but not to cover every non-first person multiplayer online arena-based fighting game in existence under one acronym. They literally could have called it anything else slightly more specific and be right about the games.

It does and its not a dota. Its a TF2-like FPS with special abilities which is pretty alright. It even got blizzard to make new ip.
