Trying to run a 20 year old Windows game inside Virtual Box on a modern Windows PC can be clunky as hell. Don't underestimate the overheads for emulation.

I've emulated up to N64/PS1 on bottom-of-the-barrel netbooks, there is no reason that the 3DS could not do Super Nintendo.

Also there's drama in the comments section i don't even feel like reading but can be summed up with:

- You can't sell intellectual property that does not belong to you.
- Well Disney is not selling it so it's not like i'm stealing anything.

I'm SO SALTY! Super Nintendo Games like Earthbound and Super Mario World have finally arrived at the 3DS e-shop... but they're all NEW 3DS exclusives?! I just don't get it, the standard 3DSXL can do all this awesome shit, render large, detailed 3D environments and characters... but I need a hardware upgrade to emulate 20 year old games? What the actual fuck Nintendo?

They ported Final Fantasy 6 to the *GBA*, though to be fair it did suffer slowdowns and was technically a port (they seem to use a SNES emulator mostly, but they might have used FF6-specific efficiency hacks).
However, I was able to generically emulate the SNES pretty well with an R4 on my DS lite, so yeah.

It's a shame disgusting people have to latch on to innocent, positive things that make me excited, but oh well.

No it's because they're ones Disney made. As in, the posters were. I think IP rights are shit but you can't just straight sell a thing someone else made.
