Rotten Tomatoes aggregates scores from film critics. Flixster (which RT also owns) aggregates scores from the general public, as does IMDb.

So critics hate it but the public apparently adore it.

Business as usual then?

(side note: I didn't know Poland had scientists in that field)
Poland has scientists in every field, the problem is that they're all in other countries. :/

I have no real stake in the argument, but to categorically say "p<[NUMBER] is not useful" is pretty disingenuous.

The thing is, to be considered a viable "discovery", anything above about p > 0.05 is a weak enough correlation that it's not to be considered as fact.

Pretty much, the thing is, there's a pretty big difference in regards to ~media critics~ and the general public when it comes to stuff related to comic book hero franchises and whatnot. The critics in this case are usualy longtime fans of a franchise or another, and usualy take that context into their reviews. So even if the movie is entertaining, they'll still prob kick its ass for ~not playing X character right~ or something, since they also tend to focus on how the key characters are played.

On the movie itself, it seems the general idea is that the acting is kinda eh and the movie tries really hard to make itself seem very serious and philosophical (which is basically how today's batman comics are, ever since frank miller decided to put its brooding beard into it), which drags on for quite a while, but the action scenes and stuff, is all pretty good. But really, who the hell watches a batman/superman movie looking for quality acting? Thats like going to mcdonalds and ordering a fancy lobster dinner.

Prove that sqrt(a + b) < sqrt(a) + sqrt(b), when a > 0 and b > 0
I can't wait to see what the 'official' solution will be, as I don't think that can be true. Am I missing something?

E: Wait, carp, I see where I am wrong. I would still like the correct answer, though.

If you square both sides of that equation you get a + b < a + b + 2*sqrt(a)*sqrt(b)
Neat question, I miss geometry/proofs...

Edit:  Pretty sure I made a mistakey, fixed, also this only works because a and b are positive I think

also this only works because a and b are positive I think
It's been close to 2 decades since I did any maths like this so I'm probably getting it wrong in some way, but is there maybe a wrinkle in the fact that positive numbers all have two square roots, one positive and one negative.  i.e. sqrt(x2) = x, -x.  The question only states that a>0 and b>0, not that it's only taking the values where sqrt(a)>0 and sqrt(b)>0.

What I'm not sure is whether in the given equation, once you evaluate sqrt(a) and sqrt(b) do you just get two permutations of the possible roots (one for the positive roots and one for the negative roots) or do you get four permutations (one for the positive roots, one for the negative roots, then two for the positive/negative combos)?

i.e.

(if that's not an issue, squaring both sides is what I'd do too)

The square root function is a function that assigns non-negative real numbers their non-negative square roots. You don't need to consider any negative things.
