The word "vegan" makes me hunger for flesh.

I bought some chestnuts to snack on. I open the bag and get this smell that I've associated with things like SPAM and those little sausage thingies, and they have a taste to match. They are also unpleasantly soft. My stepdad assures me that this is normal.

I talked with a vegan on youtube comments.
Apparently being vegan is not only a moral choice but extremely healthy.
He rambled on how meat is extremely cancerogenic and causes heart attacks.
Vegans are smarter, live longer and everyone who eats meat will die young...
And his proof was some study comparing eating whole vegan foods and... literally living on fast food.
Basically eating greens vs a "Super Size Me" diet.

Gee! I wonder why eating meat was so unhealthy!
They literally took the worst shit that's health wise superior only to eating rotten food and carrion scraped off the street.

And then you have this.

Seriously leave it to Americans and they will turn everything into a quasi religion given enough time.

Vegetibles are delisious. They are even more delisious cooked with meat.
Plus, cheese. Solid milk must be the most healthy thing ever. Lifespan depends partally on happyness.

So being vegan is on par with the discovery of penicillin and the like?

This is why I love the Bosmer so much.  Wood elves in tune with nature and especially plants...  So they're strict carnivores, rather than eating plants.

Personally I was pescetarian or "semi-vegetarian" for a few years and it was great.  Milk, eggs, and fish provided all the protein I needed, particularly with legumes+grains.  Mostly so I could eat cheaply (which had the side effect of not funding the excessively large and wasteful meat industry).  It helped me stay thin without trying though, too, so I've been heading back in that direction...

I never was the kind to demand that other people do it though, or to feel guilty about the circle of life.

cheese isn't really healthy though it's just delicious and goes with absolutely everything
because it's fatty and usually salty

Vegetables are delicious.
Gods, but I wish. I've yet to find a non-grain, non-tuber (potatoes, etc.), non-fruit vegetable that didn't taste absolutely vile to me. Bloody annoying, since I'd really like to eat healthier, but there's not much you can do when "healthier" tastes so bad it literally causes you to vomit :-\

Medical science needs to hurry up and let us edit junk like that at whim. I'd like to be able to eat a salad without worshiping the porcelain god after a few bites...

Bean dips can help with carrots and celery.  Peppers taste pretty good when cooked, particularly stuffed with cheese or other things.  I do eat too much carbs though...  I wish for the days when I thought only sweets and fats could make one gain weight.

Oh and vegetable juice like V8 can be very helpful for getting veggies, though it doesn't satisfy hunger that well.

Just had a teacher call Wikipedia a great source. I mean, they are right, especially with this being a programming course, but still. Never thought I'd hear a teacher say those words.

Wikipedia is a great source to find actual sources, truth be told. Just search for the topic you want, scroll all the way down and click the links to the actual sources.

This :P Plus context. Wikipedia in...certain discussions can be biased and not reliable at all, but in theoretical articles, can act as a great source since it's a summary of specific sections of textbooks with detailed explanations--something a novice may not understand due to the technical terms and jargon, but something someone who knows what to look for may easily work with.

But when doubtful: Always check those references.
