You know you've eaten too much when your shits are so big your penis can no longer fit inside your body.
I'm not sure if that makes sense

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

What is the purpose of dual pieces? Multiple redundancy? Simultaneous insemination? Furry porn?

I was going to ask the same thing. And then I searched it up, and then I regretted it.

In the case of reptiles it's not really certain, but it is thought to improve sperm transfer when performing multiple copulations in quick succession. Since only one is used at a time being able to swap to the unused one means that there's a cleaner path for semen to travel along. Since reptile penises have a sperm channel on their surface rather than an internal tube like mammals do, having a clear path is reasonably important.

In some invertebrates, like earwigs, it does appear to be for spares, since if one is broken off in the middle of copulation the earwig just swaps to the other and keeps going.

EDIT: I would advise not looking up hemipenes if you're the sort to be grossed out by weird animal genitals by the way. Like a lot of animals reptiles have various bits and bobs on their penises to help them lock into or clear rival sperm from their mates. Spikes and hooks and bulges and all sorts of odd looking stuff. Animal penises tend to look like some sort of alien from a horror movie.

Is it just me or we discuss animal genitalia pretty often here.

If you want grossout then the Henderson's castration device or traumatic insemination is for ya

I'd probably place Henderson's castration device above traumatic insemination, as it's efficient - power drill + clamp, and the added hilarity that a whole family line felt such pride in their device that they placed their family name to it, which to be fair it is a great deal better than scalpel procedures. Also educational as fuck, so you know what your Dorfs are doing when gelding

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

More bleeding = chance of mutilation, infection, damage e.t.c., and reliant upon the skill of the castrator

Having a standardized efficient system that an amateur could use cuts a lot of the error out

Okay... then, one of those rubber ring thingies used for sheep tails?

Rubber ring thingies sadly don't work on the more... prodigiously gifted... animals.
Lambs, whatever, sure.
Horses, not so much.

Looking into this further for some reason farmers don't use the rubber bands used in docking for castration, must be some reason why. They tend to favour crushing / surgical removal of the testes / crushing of the spermatic cord / alternative tools like the Henderson's device

Wouldn't be surprised if it was the invention of Old Man Henderson

But back to the topic of castration, yeah rubber bands just don't cut it compared to power clamps and motors
No pun intended

Well, far as I was learn'd:
(PG-13 metaphor skills activate!)

Basically rubber is rubber, and there isn't yet a variety of rubber which can stretch far enough to accommodate the jam pot, whilst still being tight enough to keep the lid on.
The lid slipping off said jam pot generally results in... calamities.

I spent a long time trying to explain said calamities but nope.
