I have a WTF for you guys though.  I have DF running on my android tablet without any emulation. So far its perfectly playable on a 4x4 embark. (I made a thread in fortress mode discussion)

It's nice being able to sneak in some DF at work.

My guess: tablet has an x86 processor, and he's running some version of linux on it.

(Unless you really just have a full Linux installation on your device, of course. Then reveal the model of your device and/or general advice on accomplishing that.)

Also, how do you deal with the UI? Screen keyboard? USB keyboard?

Jopa is correct. It is an x86 based android tablet.

Android sits on top of a linux kernel. If you can get root access on the tablet (have it rooted), you can install a proper linux userspace inside a chroot with an app in the playstore called "linux deploy."

Once you have a proper linux userspace filesystem set up, you use linux deploy to do all the mounting and chroot magic for you, then you connect to that userland using VNC or SSH.

DF Linux can run unmodified inside that chroot.  The tablet I picked up is not that expensive-- a 78$ special from walmart. It runs DF at 45fps with 30 dwarves, on a 4x4 embark so far.

The real mindblower, is that theoretically, WINE can be set up in that userspace, and unmodified windows software can run.  I intend to test out the original starcraft sometime this weekend.

I have found an old round d6 die.
It seems to have some kind of moving weight in it, so it stops eventually with a face pointing up, but still.

Can't say I've seen one of those before.

Yea, someone found a dinosaur fossil and the best idea they had of what to do with it was cutting it up into dice. They were being sold for around 60 dollars or so.
