Apparently, Harvard is overwhelmingly racist and some people want areas free of 'offensive behaviour'.

Why bother setting up a zone just so racists can spread thier lies everywhere else? Jusy set up "free speech zones" instead, so no-one has to listen to them.

One wonders if America should work out how to deal with its horrific past of slavery and current racism by an actual system, working from some sort of set of notions about what is better kept, lost etc. Rather than getting cross at Harvard professor names and being totally fine with "Gone with the wind - esque" package tours showing holidaygoers how wonderful it was for the whites of that era and culture.

Then again, that would mean pretty much everyone in America would have to accept that race is an issue, which won't happen.

Also, asserting that ~black only~ areas are needed because they otherwise would suffer hostility is both a hilarious terrible approach to dealing with racism and implying that anyone who isn't black will automatically be hostile to black people.

...what? I can't parse what you're trying to say here, at least not in a way that makes sense.

My guess is, this is about some guide that explains how to play the chromatic scale (which is probably what Neo means with 'meter'). Most modern music only uses notes from that, but saying it lets one play any song is pretty close to saying that having all the parts of a car lets one build a car from scratch. It's technically true, but there is much more to it. Really, any guide that promises to make any skill that requires years of practice easy, is probably omitting a lot of essential things.

Of course, I'm really just guessing on what Neo's meaning is, and might be wrong.
