Have y'all been enjoying my absence over the past few days, or have y'all missed me?
I've been mostly without internet for a while, only able to clumsily access Facebook via my new phone and not much else. This trip has been very, very strange so far, and I would probably have a heap of ammunition for this thread if I thought about it, but this time I'm just here to say that I'm still (mostly) alive, still (probably) healthy and still (definitely) partying on.
How have you guys been? I'm about to go to bed, now that I've finally connected my laptop to the wi-fi successfully.   


Oh, and a more specific WTF: I might actually be keeping my New Year's resolution so far.

My wall has some extremely solid grime on it. I tried to clean it with dishwashing fluid and a rag first and then a grease-removing solution and heavy scrubbing, but the paint itself started crumbling off before I made any noticeable progress on the grime. Does anyone know how to best remove years-old organic matter off a painted wall, preferably without any collateral damage?

Couldn't you just paint over it? Or very gently try sanding it off?
Otherwise, I don't know, there's probably always more cleaning products to try. Bleach, maybe. Or methylated spirits.
