Druids are a second-tier class IIRC, cleric and wizard are first-tier.
Druids are firmly rooted in tier 1.
Well actually neither, it depends on what kind of spells the druid in question have. For all we know, the Druid may have picked up only useless spells, like Goodberries or something and be tier 5.
But they pick their spells every morning, from all that are available.  It's not like a sorcerer/bard/favored soul where you can screw the character up by picking bad spells-known.  It's as flexible as a wizard cleric.  Except that the list of spells isn't so expansive...  But there are things druids can do, like healing and summoning certain specific useful creatures, that aren't available to arcane magic.

Besides that, they get
3/4 BAB (like a rogue!) and some weapon proficiencies
no penalty for casting in armor (they START with medium proficiency, and the only caveat is that the armor can't be metal.  But ironwood crafting armor is just fine)
2 more skill point per level than wizards
They can turn into a bird and fly, or a fish and swim, or a bear and maul you.  At level 10 or so they can be like this all day.
Later they can become an earth elemental and glide underground, or an air elemental and fly 100ft perfectly, well you get the idea
Oh, and their animal companion (twice as powerful as the ranger's).  Like the evil druid in OotS said:  I have class features more powerful than you!
...  And, wow, they actually get slightly more spells per day than a wizard!  Wizards seem to cap at 4 spells per day of each level.  Druids get up to 5 (6 for level 0).
And unlike a wizard who prepared the wrong spells, druids can spontaneously cast Summon Nature's Ally.  Which includes things like unicorns for healing/curing, and elementals for various utilities.
... OH!  And wizards have to actually find or research their spells, and carry them around in a BOOK, whereas druids (like clerics) just get them all from a short meditation every morning.

The only thing that balances this is that arcane magic list has many spells that have no druid version.  But the druid spell list is pretty damn good too!  It has elemental blasting, plant-based utilities, healing, buffing, walls...  Most notably lacks illusions and force attacks.

I know what I'm going to do with my STEM degree!

Haha, this is great!

Yeah, with lots of optimization druids might not keep up with wizards or clerics, but with just sorta normal out of the box play they are probably the strongest. Best fighters, and comparable combat and utility magic to the other two. That's why they are T1

This world? The predators aren’t just hiding behind the Galaga machine at the arcade. They’re in our kids’ pockets, in their backpacks, in their bedrooms.

It’s not okay to play the Luddite. Bumbling dad with the remote control only the kids can figure out needs to die along with dad jeans.

Know your kids’ digital lives. Prowl their email, their laptops and their phones.

“Have your kids’ passwords,” Bacon said. “Have a working idea of how to use your kids’ phone. Mom and Dad bought it for them, for crying out loud. They need to know how to use it.”

Remember iPhone dad? He’s the poor guy who had a two-year legal battle in Dallas after he was arrested on a property-theft charge for taking away his daughter’s iPhone when she used it in a horrid way. He was right. Be like iPhone dad.

Bacon said he tells parents to never let their kids have in-depth, online conversations with strangers. If your kid has crossed the line, ask your phone carrier to have your kid’s phone mirrored to your phone.

“Every text, every picture they send, Mom and Dad can see on their device,” he said.

My kids hate it when I do that. Too bad.

Not long ago, I was going through the search history on my 11-year-old son’s laptop. Nerf guy, Lego, Nerf, Cats vs. Cucumbers, Curves. Wait! Curves?

I clicked on that one, my stomach lurching at the thought of a porn conversation with my tween.

“Curves — the Hot Wheels Track Builder Challenge!” Whew.

I don't know the scope of the problem, but if law enforcement is doing their job (and in the example she presented to build her case, they certainly did, nabbing the alleged perpetrator in half a week), can there really be that many predators out there trolling for child victims on the internet? Not to say that child predators don't exist, but... She sounds pretty paranoid to me, and to top it all off, is she unaware of incognito mode? :-\

Incognito mode only clears your browser history. As a parent you can easily ask your ISP for your own use records and they'll happily hand them over. I dunno how far back they go, but there it is.

She is being paranoid though.

Now I kind of want to make a (forum) game about an organization that exist solely to kidnap children through the use of teh intarwebs and harvest their souls, but I don't know if that might cross any lines.

If you made a game about an organization that snoops the web for any purpose whatsoever, you'd probably end up with your players kidnapping children for their souls anyway. This is Bay 12, after all.

That sounds perfectly fine. We should do it.
I need some more souls.

Eh, its actualy not too hard to find people with some very, very odd feelings in regards to underage kids on the internet, specially if you're like me and prowled the darkest corners of the internet since the second half of the 1990s. All you have to do is gain their trust and they'll eventualy spill the beans out. This is actualy what perverted justice does/did anyway.
Very few are actual predators, though (as in, actualy willing to commit crimes), but they do exist.

It still doesnt warrant 24h surveilance on the the parents part, mind you, but parents should really educate children more in regards to people they can meet on the internet/general internet behavior, specially in the current days, in which every cellphone has a high def camera and usualy carries tons of info about their owner, which may or may not include their GPS location.

The reason there was such a huge internet pedo crackdown in the last two decades was because suddenly lots of kids had access to a medium in which their parents were not experienced or very well edcuated in, meaning they couldn't properly teach their children how to deal with strangers on the internet, and didn't know the extent to which online predators could go to get what they want, and also because it suddenly became very easy for predators to share their "content" anonymously. Hell, anyone that used goddamn bearshare in the early 2000s could accidentaly end up downloading child porn that happened to be embedded into seemingly innocent looking files, and also tons of viruses :v

The media, of course, jumped on the whole thing like a lion on a crippled deer, and scared the shit out of everyone with kids, painting the internet as a hellish dimension full of child predators, and ran with this for several years. Its no wonder there's an entire generation of parents scared of allowing their children to have full unrestricted and unmonitored internet access.

Probably doesn't help that in reality quite a number of kids go through some sort of rebellious stage.
Its not like there is some mandate for kids to tell parents about everything they get up to... on the other end, helicopter parenting.  Some semblance of freedom/independence may have a want to be fulfilled as a kid under the yokes of societal expectations.

Plus, parenting skills probably ain't actually a thing within many families...
