So I found a torn up, apparently melted cough drop in my bed. I guess that explains why the seat of my pants is sticky. but it raises a whole new set of questions.

Goddamnit Undertale, isn't your map more or less a straight goddamn line? I look for Napstablooks place and I've found every other place doing so while still being unable to get to it!

North-middle of Waterfall - Quiet Area, which can be found by going directly left from Gerson's shop just north of the boat person's waterfall location.
Yeah yeah I found it again about half an hour ago, I seemed to have had flipped my mental map there, so I kept going right.

Apparently there's some debate over what actually causes the noise!  Maybe synovial fluid, maybe not.

I'm reasonably sure it's caused by cavitation in the synovial fluid. Some guys did a thing where they had a dude crack his knuckles under x-ray video, and the video strongly suggests it's cavitation.

It's not even bad for you. My parents also hate me cracking my knuckles, because they know better than a person who has dedicated his life to science on the matter and won a nobel prize (I cant remember the dude's name off the top of my head)

Basically all old people are like that though. The whole "I think it's true so it must be true" attitude is horrifyingly prevalent.

E: Seriously, I can't overstate how much that attitude pisses me off. I cannot stand it.

Oooh, pretty Philip K Dick.

Why didn't they name it after him, actually? I mean, Mandela has done a lot of amazing stuff, but I'm sure he has a ton of things named after him.

They named it after people being certain he died in prison, not something he did per se.

I think it hits harder when it's old people, though. Some kind of implicit assumption something that has managed to not get itself killed for so long would know better, maybe?

There's a sort of sterotype that youngin's are expected to be like that, but it comes with a sort of implied promise the problem sorts itself out with age. When it doesn't, not only are you dealing with someone that acts/thinks like that, you're also dealing with something that's basically a betrayal of your socially inculcated view of reality. Double whammy type of thing.

So i was wasting time arguing on youtube recently with 2 people on 2 seperate occasions.

1 - Under some preachy darkatheist video (Samson killing people while god watches and applauds)
Some guy asked what is the point of that video and i replied saying that "The bible was written down in more barbaric times and as such parts of it might be repulsive to modern readers because of modern day Morality and Ethics are different."

And so he began inquiring about said modern ethics and wanted me to make a complete rundown of ethics and morality for him (asked me about it for like 2 days straight) and stopped only after i said i'm from a christian family and as such i view senseless violence and brutality as repugnant (it was a video about samson doing senseless violence and brutality)

So he said good day and left... i'm still quite sure he hoped i'd say something about feminists and gays so he could jump me and call me the worst human being ever.

2 - Discussing the nature of Chinese Communism.

Some guy was ranting that Chinese communist party is not communist.
Now while this is true he went ahead and constantly bashes me for reminding that the current party is in fact the same party that ruled in the 70's with many of its members either being party members back then or descending from them (One Chinese General is a direct descendant of Mao for example).
Completely disregards the  fact half of the country GDP supposedly comes from state owned companies, WTO does not consider the chinese market as free and construction workers are kept busy with building ghost towns all pointing towards a less than capitalist economy.
So far i was called illiterate... and i'm slowly relearning why i stopped talking to people on youtube.

I *finally* looked up why prostitution is illegal but acting in porn isn't, in the USA, and apparently it's mostly due to the First Amendment.  Seems... off.  Have they never heard of performance art?  IDK, I think the law is backward in these areas, but at least it's trying to protect people from the dangers of prostitution.  Though I bet legalizing would be safer for everyone involved, nowadays.

It's because you're not paying someone to have sex with you, you're paying people to film them having sex. Technically, production is only explicitly legal in California (where a badly-worded bill intended to kill the industry legalized it instead) and New Hampshire (thanks to that whole "Live free or die" thing they have out there), but the few attempts at prosecution elsewhere have failed due to that technicality.

It is distribution that is protected under the First Amendment, not production.

More interesting is that pornography is a perfect example of an industry that is literally being gutted by piracy. Despite vastly increasing acceptance of it as normal and skyrocketing amounts consumed, profits are plummeting because most of the distribution is via *tube sites and torrent. Attempts by activists to kill it, often with documentaries filled with blatant lies, don't help (particularly since the industry has a significant lack of effective libel protection no matter what the law says), but declining incomes are a provable fact.

Isn't a decent part of that because the big porn industry is still stuck in the ages of magazines and calendars? I mean, if you want to make money off porn camwhoring is a pretty good way to go about it. But instead they keep making relatively expensive productions that nobody's really all that bothered about.
