Ehm, thats pretty much a rule of mythological storytelling  for heroes to do dumb mistakes and to totally ruin their lifes.
Unless they are Odysseus type hero.
But wait, he did totally break his chances to get home in any reasanoble time by yelling to son of Poseidon his name, so Polyphemus could ask Poseidon to avenge his eye.

Yes... but Samson has the special honor of repeating the same mistake... several times.

Imagine if Icarus flew too close to the sun three times...

It's kind of the point of the story of Samson that he's an idiot, as I understand it. Cautionary tale about arrogance, or something along those lines.

Well he goes SO far beyond idiocy that a lot of people just interpret it as "He can't resist his wife"

But I will say I love Samson Da Barbarian so far... I was worried it would be "Take that religion!" but... uhhh... Yeah it is somewhat of an honest retelling.

And HECK retelling stories from the Bible as a comedy was invented by the Christians first :P

Edit: Nevermind... second episode gets preachy. But I guess the creator couldn't hold himself back forever.

The creator has a REALLY oddly literal interpretation of the bible O_o

"Since birth, babies can't make vows"

Really Jeffry? Figure of speech never occurred to you?

"Really his hair?"

Really Jeffry? Ignoring the symbolism involved (which is fine, I don't expect people to know every nuance of every story and this one would require in depth knowledge of the Jewish faith), the reason it is unusual is because it is the hair. That is why Delilah was needed. The reader/listener is as mystified as to what the source could be as the characters.

Dang it Jeffry stick to pointing out how dumb Samson is!

Edit: I am actually not against the criticism (beyond having a God stand in... if only because that might be tipping things a bit too far into disrespectful) just the oddly literal sections (except when the joke is that they are taking something specific as outright literal. Like "1000 means EXACTLY 1000" which is hillarious)

>_< Dang "God" character. If ONLY he wasn't there I could keep watching... but I have a feeling I shouldn't.

It is rather hard to mend mental wounds >_< isn't it?
I always thought the mental wound analogy was a good one. The wounds may heal, but they still leave scars.

And sometimes they still ache on rainy days.

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?
My ship exploded midflight, but all the shrapnel totally landed on Alpha Centauri before anyone else did.  Bow before me world leaders!

Through strange contortions of fate and dumbness of my close relatives, the first Star Wars movie I am watching (right now) is The Phantom Menace.

Who needs Episode 3? We have Star War: The Third Gathers: Backstroke of the West.

Plus you're watching the films in chronological order. I'd go so far as to say that this is probably the best way for a new watcher of the films to approach the franchise.
