If you have Windows 8 and the start menu bothers you so much that you are completely and utterly desperate to change it, yes. Otherwise, there is literally no difference aside from Cortana and related features.

It's nice to be able to run apps (like OneNote) in actual proper windows.
It has some dumb shit, like begging you to install Office and Skype, asked you can't uninstall the apps which do that (they "come back"), but I had no problems deleting them manually*. They didn't come back after that.

* Which required giving myself admin permissions on the folder apps are in, because normally it's accessible, readable, and writable only by a special account.

"Botnet" is dumb, yeah.
Windows 10 does watch your usage for personal info, though, and use it to offer targeted ads.  If you don't trust Microsoft 100%, don't worry, it's possible to disable all the stuff.  It's... not quick or easy, but it's possible.
