Nah, history teaching in a lot of countries is focused way too much towards national history while not caring a bit about other regions, even if they are actually important, relevant or just plain interesting. Medieval/Ancient history also suffers a lot because your average school teacher is probably specialized in more recent stuff and know little to nothing about what they are supposed to teach, often just repeating whatever is written in whatever crappy texbook they've found.
The British Empire was at its height a 100 years ago but they don't teach it in British schools whilst the medieval period is so vast that education slices through it to the point of pointlessness
All the subjects are competing with each other for attention ^_^
Start with Nigeria, Nigeria is best African nation
Lies. Mali is the best, what with Mansa Musu, the living incarnation of inflation.
You having a giggle m8? I'll have you know Nigeria was formed from many tribes and Kingdoms and has GDP top of its class with over 300 confirmed Nigerian princes. Nigeria soldiers are trained in gorilla warfare and chineke punish ebola. You think you can get away with saying that shit to Nigeria over the Internet? Think again, Mansa. As we speak the Nigerian Sovereign Lottery fund is contacting your bank to transfer unlimited money with only three easy transfers of $20,000 and the balancing of the fiscal budget between the northern and southern provinces. I will wipe you out like the civil war did to Nigeria, so you better prepare for the storm, u cheeki monkey. Not only is Nigeria extensively trained in Goodluck make rapmagic, but it has access to the entire inflation of Zimbabwe and will use it to its full extent to wipe your pitiful medieval inflation off the face of the continent.
