I'm mostly just pissed. I was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time and my car's pretty fast, so I'm confident I'd get away with little more than a fucked-up car, but still. I thought the police would help and all they managed to do is fuck my day up worse than it had already been going.

While changing googlecorp's defualt language on a seldom used distro,  I happened upon one of the langauge choices, "bork, bork, bork!"

After a rigourus investigation, it seems to refer to this fellow https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_Chef from the muppets( A show my fine country was unable to smuggle onto the air in me youth iirc)

I just had a "oh my god" moment over realizing how dark the ending of Animorphs actually was.

How does it end?  The movie or books?

Because I was into the books when I was a kid.  Something about leeches in your earhole and tight-clothed females in budding sexuality apealled to me.

All of the auxilerary animorphs (the disbled kids they recruit near the end of the series) are killed in battle, Rachel dies after killing Tom, the leader of the Taxxon resistance is killed by poachers during the epilogue, the entire cast feels empty after the war due to PTSD, Jake is the most depressed out of them due to the guilt he feels over commiting war crimes (including ordering the deaths of seventeen thousand helpless captured yeerks after taking over their mothership) and getting away with it and after Earth becomes becomes part of the interstellar community he makes a living training special forces members in using morphing to fight anti-alien terrorists, and at the very end he, Marco, and Tobias go on a suicide mission in a stolen ship to try and save Ax who's been posessed by a creepy alien abomination which is heavily implied to end in all of them dying.

What I find depressing, is that the series has roughly as many books as the Conan series.

I loved the show and the books as a little kid. It was way above its standard level of maturity, and was a formative factor in my early youth. It really stood against the grain of all the other crap I had access to growing up. I still occasionally catch an episode ad-nauseum to this day.

That series was a masterpiece, and the ending was the best it could possibly be.

taking a midterm that is 30% (!!!!) of my final grade in Global Issues, and it's obvious that this guy doesn't give a fuck. There were at least 5 repeat questions, several with stupid obvious answers, and one with two correct answers (not two answers that might be correct - although there were questions like that - but literally the right answer listed twice)

Midterm is a large exam based on half the semester's syllabus.  Its like a final exam, except halfway through.

The general idea is if you fail the midterm, you should consider dropping the course.
