Wow, looking through Bulbapedia, found the list of words that prevent Pokemon being traded. Not going to link it, because that's some serious foul language. Because of this list, some Pokemon such as Nosepass and Froslass(both contain "ass") cannot be traded without changing their name.

Because it's Bulbapedia, that means people had to go through and look for every single one of these. And in multiple languages.

KZ is a banned "word"
does this mean that pokemon with KZ in their name are untradable?

The 3DS games got hit even harder with the Scunthorpe problem than the other ones, particularly since you can't actually name them something with a banned word in the first place. You can't name a Pokémon "Spike" because "pik" is Dutch slang for "penis"; you can't name a Pokémon "Violet" because "viol" is French for "rape"; the list goes on. You also can't trade anything in the Bulbasaur line because "sau" is German for "pig", and apparently they were afraid that German people would send other German people Pokémon named "you're a pig".

Other 3DS games got this as well; one Let's Player playing Tomodachi Life apparently snagged the censor with the phrase "of a giant turtle".

Tomodachi Life's censor is fascinating, as it includes several very obscure and creative terms while not including a couple very common ones. "Fap" is allowed, for example, while "smegma" is not.

Neither does Firefox's. Us shitlords just have an abnormally high propensity for smegma compared to the general population.
