I've been thinking of all my experience with kids cartoon...

And I can only think of two shows where the plot is about someone creating a rash of Misandry.

-There is the Powerpuff Girls where a villain justifies her crime spree by saying it is for feminism sake and the Power Puff girls buy into it (Until actual women state that "no, she is just a crook")
--One of the two episodes that dealt directly with sexism... and this was the better one. The other had a "Men's only Justice League" that had to rewrite the Justice Friends to make them sexist, in spite of the fact that we seen a woman in their league before (The Spell Witch)
-Then there is Generation O! where Molly O gets pissed off at her brother and writes "Girls Rule, Boys Drool" which creates a widespread girls vs. boys culture. It is resolved when she states that the song is really only about one boy (her brother).

Where did this come from?

Well I am rewatching Generation O! and there are only two episodes I actually care about
1) An episode about bed wetting where it pretty much states how extremely common it is and that if people talked about it no one would be embarrassed anymore.
2) This episode.
Ohh wait a third one
3) An episode where Molly O can't join the chorus because she refuses to sing along to the chorus and in the end she takes over the play and has the chorus play her backup singer... Because give the baby her bottle.

I was reading up about Adria Richards, who got the guy fired for making the "big dongle" joke at PyCon 2013.

What I discovered is a total WTF. She's a total hate-monger, opportunist and an outrage-faker (i.e she tweeted dick jokes herself while at the same conference).

she once tried to derail a feminist run developer seminar she was due to speak at, because one of the talks (by a female dev) on monetization was called "Getting the Money Shot" so Adria started badmouthing the seminar on social media. She didn't contact them or express any concerns, it was straight to social media to raise the pitchforks. When the (female) organizers finally got her to turn up, she used her entire time on stage to lecture the audience about how they were all bad feminists who were supporting porn. Basically a social studies major talking down to an audience of programmers who were 40% women because of a total bullshit reason. There are other incidents as well where she's tried to derail developer meetings run by women because of supposed sexist things.

To top all that off is the most unbelievable/hypocritical part of all. Only 3 days before the PyCon incident, she herself tweeted dick jokes with a mate while at that very PyCon, and others on twitter noted that she's made "dongle" jokes herself on twitter. So she's apparently mega-offended if someone sitting behind her is telling the jokes but is laughing along on twitter at the same thing? How does that even work? And her advice to other females at conferences is to just say "that's not cool" if people say sexist jokes. Which is basically the opposite of what she did herself. Big discrepancy between her professional behaviour and her rhetoric.

... I mean, you don't see Anita Sarkeesian tweeting dick jokes in her spare time then getting upset that a man did it.

She's a professional at getting offended. That's her entire reason for being at those conferences. She gave a HUGE smile to the guy she doxxed when she photo'd him. For her, that was the money-shot of the entire conference, which she was waiting for while tweeting her own dick jokes.

As for porn. Some feminists (because as always they are not a united front and each have their own opinions and ideas on how women's rights work) actually do believe that porn, in all forms, is a affront to women's rights.

So her views are not off (I personally do not like her views and would actively fight against them... at least those two)

But yeah she sure is a professional at getting offended. Keep your view but don't be a jerk about it. HECK it probably wouldn't have been extremely valuable for her to make her case about why porn is anti-feminist so the audience could formulate their own opinions.

Grabbed a game off of the steam sale. Seems that running it needs a rather large amount of RAM and Video Memory. Even just to meet the minimums to run it are more than my laptop has. Even on minimum settings I don't get a half-decent framerate. More like a slideshow. Shame, since I can run every other game I own just fine.

My laptop has also been blue-screening quite a bit on me for some reason. Something about POWER_DRIVER_STATE_FAILURE, though I've tried updating everything, which has been the suggested fix I've seen online.

Speaking of which, it seems like every single sale day(today wasn't even a sale, it was just Halloween), I have to field complaints from customers about how the womens' restroom is absolutely horrid.

And they may have a point, I could smell it from halfway across the store. And it's a fairly big store.

I have been in the mens' room in that store exactly once, but I would say that it's comparable to my home bathroom. Probably slightly better; at least the mens' room has a working toilet.

What do th chips look like? Personally, I'd say it makes a ton more sense for them to use chips than breast implants. But couldn't they use quartz instead?

Well the WTF wasn't that she was offended, it was that she's totally cool with those sorts of jokes normally. So, yeah, WTF complete faker. No wonder they fired her after this. At the time, I read claims she was fired purely because misogynists started a hate campaign against her and the company "gave into the bullies".

Actually, what really happened (read the Amanda Blum blog post) was that other female developers she had previously backstabbed, started emailing her company pointing out her pattern of nasty and childish behaviour ...
