I can hear his irritating voice any time I'm not in my room with headphones on blasting music. He just goes on and on about nothing at all. He could talk about anything and piss everyone off in the process. He always acts as though everyone's hanging off his every word. He cuts people off and cracks stupid jokes, and he even does this when others are trying to concentrate on something- when someone's watching a film he will stumble in and start giggling inanely at whatever they're watching, for example.

Oh, that's another thing: he giggles. That sounds like the most annoying thing imaginable, but somehow his usual speech is worse.

It's like white noise. It will probably wind up driving me berserk unless I get headphones with better noise cancelling or something.

That is my personal hell.

To be fair, this is the situation they're looking for:

"Spy software" used against students?  That was in my high school *before* 9/11, it's part of managing a computer lab.  Didn't really stop people from installing kazaa and downloading porn, but that was the intent.  Expecting private browsing in a school computer lab is ridiculous.

The only disturbing point is the optional lack of transparency in the process...  Which can still be justified when dealing with active terrorist recruitment, but has a potential for abuse.

So yeah, predictable overreaction.

I'm not at my home computer, and searched for bay 12 forums. On this computer the default search engine is yahoo. You know how search engines give you sub sections for the first listed site? 4 of the 6 are subforums, which is pretty normal, but two of them are random users for some bizzare reason (Cheesecake and Ribs), and I have no clue why.

Hm, tentative congratulations.  My first alcohol was also a glass of red wine.  I was several hours in on a programming project, and my dad gave it to me for some reason (I was 19, I think).  The tastes were exceptionally strong, which I actually liked (weak tongue, can't smell).
As for the alcohol part, I got kinda giddy and very talkative.  Though a lot of that was finishing up the project.
(But I was very reserved by nature, even around family)

I think the pleasantly strong flavors caused me to start drinking diet root beers.  I didn't drink alcohol again for about 5 years (except a single pint on my 21rst).  Around 24 I started bingeing to cope with shit, and never really stopped for long.

Sorry for the confusion, everything after the quote is sorta a separate point.  The article author calls it "spy-software" in the first paragraph.
Whereas that quote is from the official report, which the author quoted.

Turns out the word has a proper history, and isn't some gross-sounding disparaging term like I thought!
It just means old soldier, which is why it's applied to those great people who fight wars on tabletops.
