Another wtf is that it's 90 friggin' degrees outside even though it's almost the middle of october. The mornings are nice and chilly though.
Jeez, where do you live, Hell?
Only in the summer and early fall. But yes.

And I don't have air conditioning!  :D
Well, that exchange has a rather interesting epilogue for me.

Today I woke up to discover that PSYCHE, WE WINTER NOW. Out of the blue, everything is white.

Compulsive addiction meaning it's psychological and not physiological
That's kind of a dangerous line to draw isn't it?  The brain is a sack of conductive meat, how you think is tied to the physical state of your body, ect. ect.  It seems like in this day and age its difficult to argue that there's a hard line there.

A cursory google search reveals that the wikipedia article on the topic flat out states that caffeine addiction has never been sighted in humans, however the all it has is a single link to a non-electronic source.  It also has a source that DOES say caffeine addiction is a thing which makes such a direct statement coming out of wikipedia rather odd.  I assume its a page that doesn't get much traffic.

Everything else on the front page of Google gives much more wishy-washy answers.  The straightest one that actually bothered to explain itself was WebMD which basically said that it depends on how you define addiction: the mechanisms of addiction are there but it isn't as harmful as harder drugs so it doesn't fulfill the "adverse effects" requirement of addiction.
It's not addictive the way alcohol or cocaine is addictive, yeah. But neither is gambling or sex, both things that have addiction counseling, and those don't have the 'urgh I'm a zombie with a headache' factor of dropping caffeine. You can power through quite easily if you don't have urgent work to do or wake too goddamn early with painkillers for a day or two. It's more of a good-cop-bad-cop operant conditioning.

I was talking in relation to what BurnedToast and TDS were saying, not saying that about caffeine per se. I will endeavour to include quotes and avoid ambiguity in future.

Firefox might actually be the most customizable one of the mainstream browsers. I can't give any links right now as I'm on a phone, but I'm almost certain you can find an interface to your liking (or make one yourself) with a just bit of searching.

Switch to Pale Moon. It's a fork of Firefox without the damn interface changes.

I've been using it for a year or two now.

Apparently, I've actually gone and drafted myself to arrange a piece for a music group I play in.  Why did I do that.

And I hardly ever see them...

Yeah, that's because all those people post mainly in the roleplay heavy, rules light games.

How am I this nostalgic for something I watched a few hours ago. Buh.

I guess it probably isn't actual nostalgia, it just feels like it.

Sometimes I think I'm feeling nostalgic, then I realize I'm just hungry.
