Eh. If it's true that more black people wear baggy trousers than white (I don't know if it is, though, never having devoted time to unravelling this mystery) then it may not be racist to see someone in baggy trousers and assume it's black. Though it is, I will admit, walking the border line. Plus, it would have to be a huge majority of black people who wear baggy trousers.

Not quite sure why I wrote this, given it hardly matters, but now that it's typed I don't want to waste it so....

...Wearing baggy trousers is (or was?) a very popular trend among young black people, a sort of gangster-chic.  The trend started in prisons, and this youth fashion style involved imitating criminals to look tough.  Which is stupid, but about as stupid as heavy goth makeup.  IE, not actually that stupid, just a cultural thing.

Acknowledging the existence of this fashion is not racist, I can't even.  You know what?  If I'd tried to adopt the style during high school, as a white boy, then you would have seen some real racism.  Racial gangs gave me enough grief even without provoking them.  But mentioning that is probably racist too, huh?

Revising history doesn't solve anything, and throwing "racist!" around at the drop of a hat is so counterproductive.  The trick to progress is to forgive and move forwards...

Got a letter in the mail asking me to register to vote, alongside an ad asking to vote Conservative.

Found out that my mom's ex likes the conservatives. My mom doesn't vote, so she doesn't care about politics.

Her Ex on the other-hand, got into an argument with me over it. He just rebuffs every point I make. "Doesn't matter who you vote for, every one will fuck us over, so you may as well vote for the Conservatives, because we already know in what way they will fuck us over."

I can hear him ranting upstairs about China for some reason.
