I'd like to see a cartoon of a merperson casting a fishing line up onto land, trying to catch a pig or something on a hook.

Willfully consuming alcohol shouldn't absolve someone from anything they do drunk.
Being young drives people to test authority and themselves.  Not only are they predisposed to making mistakes, they're much more likely to actually learn from them.
Not if they can't remember what happened :P

They're thinking of Native Americans and other tribals who *respected* what they ate.  They weren't magic vegans :P

You mean like the Plains tribes that chased entire herds of buffalo over cliffs so they could eat about 5% of the meatpile left at the bottom? That kind of respect?
Let's not romanticize tribal life. There are some positives to it, but also a lot of negatives.

Unrelated: Geez, if GTA V wasn't selling for $60 years after launch I might actually consider buying it. :I
It... released only a couple of months ago, on the PC at least...

Respect the meatpile
Life is, in a word, meatpile.

God I feel like meat pile now. Or even haunch.
Sometimes I get sick of pussyfooting my meals and eating the 1/2" steak from the deli.
I wanna cook a roast pork just for me and then carve the fucker with my teeth.

Which probably isn't civilised, but it's goddamn juicy.
Like whoever insists on eating Mango the clean way clearly hasn't tried skinning it and having at like an apple. Probably in the shower, but that's more practicality than decadence.

I strongly admire these sentiments. Food should be respected as food, who gives a shit if juice runs down your chin? WHich isn't to say that I bite into an orange like an elf into a dwarven heart in public, of course...

Exactly.
Watermelon should be caved in on one side with your fists and then scooped out and haphazardly shovelled into your mouth.
Grapes? Freeze them, sure. Then smash them.

Peaches are fine as is.

Now I must go an introduce a banana to my mouth via thick rivulets of molten chocolate.

I keep seeing the ameripol thread, and on seeing the name Wallace, and all I can think of is

The mental image of Wallace and Gromit in The Presidential Race makes me titter a little every time it pops up.

This, pretty much. Drunk people choose to drink themselves stupid, so we hold them accountable for what they to while drunk. Understanding your drinking limits is a thing.

And even it being that high is just to please all the bible grippers and busybodies. It could easily be taken down another year.
Yeah I don't think that's a good idea.
Why not?
Also, because having the age of consent down at 15 would open the door for waa-aay too many creeps.

Here in Sweden the age of consent is 15 (with exceptions for closeness in age), but that doesn't mean it is considered decent for grown people to see teenagers. That's still a social forbiddance (as it should be, in my opinion).
