Speaking of geothermal, me and one of my friends came up with a cunning plan a few years ago.

Step 1: Take over the UK.
Step 2: Invade Iceland.
Step 3: Construct an extremely long undersea power cable between Iceland and the UK.
Step 4: Harness Iceland's massive amounts of geothermal energy.
Step 5:
Step 6: Profit.

There is a thread on /g/ (and has been regular threads for this on /g/, going by archive links) for "waifu-bot generals". Threads consist of people wanting android waifus, and general discussion on robot waifus. I'd say a better description for it would be "a humanoid companion robot possessing human-esque AI", although there are also anons looking for something as simple as a program to run on a phone, like a virtual buddy or "chatbot".

I'm not super surprised there's a demand for this. On the upside, it means my decision to try to major in artificial intelligence or robot stuff probably won't go to waste. Seems like an easily marketable product could be made to meet this demand.

Went to work, had them cancel the paycheck that never arrived. They give me a debit card for that paycheck. Fine, except it's Visa, who have always had problems with not believing I am who I say I am. Fortunately activating it went fine and all, and I think I can use it for non-US purchases, so GOG is probably no longer off-limits to me(US cash gift cards cannot be used for GOG, which is based in Europe), though I have not checked yet.


I get home today, and I find my paycheck had arrived in the mail. >_<

Android as a robotics term just means "robot designed to look humanoid and act humanoid", rather than a robot design that looks like a car or a spider or a ball or what-have-you. It's not gender-specific. At least not any more gender specific than the term "mankind" is to refer to the human civilization as a whole.

And depending on the consumer user person, maybe they would want a robot companion that looks like a dude.

The depiction of Africa was somewhat... nasty, even before the zombies are revealed.  A lot of morons jumped on this, on both sides, and moved the argument to "White guy shooting black people, racist!"  "Nuh-uh!".  It got really dumb really fast.  Depicting a portion of Africa as impoverished isn't actually bad anyway.

IDK, I couldn't stand the game for other reasons so I didn't get far.
