More seriously, it actually does/did have a use in prosecuting certain crimes, primarily drug related. It's just since been expanded and abused to the point it's one of the more egregious examples of problems with the US law enforcement system.

Well, it could be argued that its not corruption if an awful system is working as intended.  Although in the broader sense the law itself is clearly in violation of the fourth amendment, so... yeah, corruption is a good word for it.

New tablet won't save any of the settings I try to change on it.

I put in settings. It sticks until the tablet is turned off. Once back on, it is like it resets.

The date and time keep jumping randomly because of this.

Don't know what kind. I know it uses android, and the manufacturer is Haier.

Didn't update it though. My mom plans on returning it.
