I definitely support community moderators. I'm sure plenty of the problems could be solved by upping the number to five or seven. Then you have more diversity of views, and more checks and balances. We should start a new thread to brainstorm ideas.

Not that Toady has any trouble as moderator (I have literally never been on a forum with moderation I like more), but it is sad when he has to spend his time here instead of making DF.

I think Toady's worried about the whole moderator situation going the way of some forums like Minecraft and Starbound where the mods think they can get away with everything and people seem to almost revere them.

The amount of stuff a popular shitposter elevated to popular shitmodding status could get away with

You know, if we wanted a community mod, I think the best person for that would be Jifodus.  Has the highest amount of time online (1531d 3h 43m) and been there since around the beginning (September 13, 2006).  Low post count, though, but that could potentially be seen as a plus.

That's a good start, but I think we'd want the requirements to be a little less strict so Toady has a few options to choose from. Maybe something like 12500+ posts, 150+ hours online, and at least 50 topics created?
