But is a person who puts much effort into keeping up appearances just to satisfy the vanity of themself and others a good person? And more importantly, are they themself in doing that? Hooray for unfulfillable expectations.

Society pushes that people should be themselves and be happy about it. Sadly, 'Themselves' is not the name of one person.

Maybe that's why self-acceptance culture has gotten hold. People saw that they couldn't push 'be yourself' enough and maintain a cultural standard for normalcy.

That's actually a fairly true to how people process things. Approval is the expression of liking - and liking depends in a major way on similarity. It's a bit more complex than that obviously, but 'the me who is you' is the standard people use in judging each other.

I called it weeks ago. The rate they're making us work was not a matter of if but when someone got hurt. This week, we've had at least four people hurt, one of whom has not returned yet. I've had several close calls myself, including almost shattering a kneecap on a cart that someone(possibly a manager) had parked where I couldn't see it.
