The weirdest hang-up I've ever seen people get on is light being affected by gravity.

Like, they're really sure of the idea that only things with mass are effected by gravity, which is wrong, but then they say that Einstein must have been wrong because it disagrees with something that is known to be wrong

i don't get it

I thought light did have mass because it is composed of a particle of matter, moves through space with a speed, and seems to be able to collide with matter(refraction).

1. It is not composed of a particle of matter. It is the mediator of the electromagnetic force.

2. Moving through space with a speed does not require mass, not sure where you heard that. Light moves through space at C. All massless things will move through space at C. Light has never been observed moving through space at any speed other than C. This heavily implies that light is massless.

3. Having mass is most definitely not required for interacting with matter. All that it needs for that is to be able to interact with one of the fundamental forces... which light is the mediator of.
