Oh, come on, they're rubber bullets, the cannon and turret are against drones, a grappling gun is actually a propulsion device, and missiles aren't guns, they're explosives.

Still the Arkham Knight game, however many guns it involved, was still f******g awesome.

Batman doesn't use guns. Like... guns.

It doesn't matter what they put in that gun. It is why he uses a batterang and not a gun.

Barring the very earliest incarnation, and discounting various Silver Age wackiness, Batman is very anti-gun because a handgun was the means by which his parents were murdered in front of him, while the "no killing" rule is a self imposed "keep me from becoming the monster" thing. That said, most of the "not-really-a-gun" explanations make perfect sense by this viewpoint.
