There are quite a few uses. Recreation, relaxation, rehabilitation, therapy, entertainment, psychological analysis...

It just isn't a mind control technique the way it is depicted as being.

Which goes entirely against the argument you've been making that it's claimed NOT to be mind control when it really is.

Yeah they are myths that are true in a way but ultimately false.

Case in point.

It's not mind *control*, but it's technically mind altering.  Alcohol or sleep deprivation can make me do something I otherwise wouldn't want to.  I'm not being controlled, though.
It gets even grayer since hypnosis often involves making suggestions.  It won't work if the suggestions are too against your nature, but still.

Hypnosis also (usualy) requires a controlled, calm environment in which the victim can relax, and maybe some level of trust in the person doing the hypnomagick. While drugs can make up for the lack of these things, they can also disrupt the hypnotism proccess since drugs have a tendency of altering a person's perception in rather unpredictable ways. This is specially true for LSD.

This is something which I have been wondering for a while - is there such a thing as actual hypnosis? Making people doing nearly anything without them realising it? I don't see how it's possible.

Wikipedia is literally the best form of mind control. You can write anything, site a source that's ridiculously hard to actually get a hold of but kinda sounds relevant, and suddenly everyone accepts it as the truth.

Maybe your fat is accumulating on the inside and somehow pushing your blood vessels outwards, thus exposing them to the ambient temperature more :v? I'm not even sure if that's possible.

Best I can tell, it happened when I used the Eternal Suggestion Voting php dealy.
(Which is sad and defunct, of course.  A lot of the most popular suggestions are long implemented.)
