Inquiring minds wish to know--

Which phones are you less tech savvy types using?

Most android phones can be coaxed to run actual linux, and thus run actual desktop versions of common browsers, like firefox. (may or may not be able to display natively over the framebuffer device-- may have to display over VNC with an android VNC client)

When the built in crapfest browser does not service, that's what I do-- Fire up the usermode linux, and open REAL firefox.

I'm using a phone that I won in a contest. Unfortunately for me, it's vastly underpowered, and this makes me sad.

... the last time I had a functioning mobile phone was like... three years ago. Maybe longer. If I'm actually taking a trip far enough away having emergency contact is important, I just bum one off family :V

Honestly, I'm not looking forward to eventually getting another one. I pretty deeply appreciate the emergency utility of the things, but basically everything else is just... irritating. The cost and constant accessibility involved, mostly. Ruddy kids* and their fancy gubbins, they should have a land line and like it, darn it.

*Nevermind that one of my grandparents has a smartphone, now, and a cellphone, and the other nearby one has a cell, too.

Guys guys guys, it doesn't really matter whether you spell color with a "u" or not. It's pronounced the same way anyway.

And that pronounciation does not contain the "u" sound
