There are hardware features embedded into many devices now that are designed to make the mittens permanent. Here's the shortlist.

UEFI bios (with secure boot)
Trusted Platform Module
Digitial signature checking encrypted boot loaders (protected with efuses)
hardware hypervisor modes built into modern CPUs.

They cant glue the mittens on YET, but trust me, they WILL, SOON.

.rtf is the default save format for wordpad, NJW. Pretty sure that's what you're actually talking about, anyway. It's a windows thing.

Anyone know what a Rich Text Document is for? I can only open it with Libreoffice, apparently, not simple text writer or whatever? It seems like a normal text document, pretty unembellished. I plan to use it to run my (I)SG, as it has the initials RTD

RTF, or Rich Text Format, has been around since windows 3.1(1).

It is the IGES, STEP, TIFF, (other exchange format) of the desktop publishing formats.  You can open it just fine with Wordpad.

I mostly use it because its readable by programs that don't like docx formats, like some older versions of Word.

Guys guys guys, it doesn't really matter whether you spell color with a "u" or not. It's pronounced the same way anyway.

The real question is, why the hell do Brits pronounce lieutenant with an "f" sound? It makes no sense...
