Not really, since Reddit still provides a gigantic amount of images to imgur and you'll find that most of them are on the front page of reddit anyway.

The way both of the communities are makes it impossible to know whether it was uploaded for imgur and posted on reddit or uploaded for reddit and posted on by imgur people.

While cringe is admittedly based on laughing at other people's expense, it's a bit extreme to say it's "showing someone they want to beat up". A good number of cringe fans are socially awkward themselves and enjoy the assurance that there are people more dysfunctional than them out there, in addition to the humor aspect.
