And now, with that court trial, even though I already established with the high court that yes, the sith were planning on installing a puppet government and everyone already knew that Taris was wiped off the map because of the sith, they still refused to believe they would kill a single one of their own for failing them?!

I mean, Mr. War hero over here is still guilty as hell, but that doesn't explain why the judges still refused to stay on my side when they found out the medal was planted on the body! Why did the sith even do that! It was totally un-nessecary!

The main reason is that the war is still going on, meaning the Selkath can continue to profit from selling the most effective medical ingredient in the galaxy(that the Selkath have a full monopoly on), so the High Court(who have a vested interest in the above) are most certainly try to piss off both sides against each other as much as possible to make sure the war drags on for as long as possible, because as far as trauma medicine goes, Manaan has both the Republic and the Sith by the balls.

They don't really care about "justice" if they profit. They arrest you for attacking the Sith embassy because it might provoke armed response from the Sith. They do let you go for the whole puppet government plan(but NOT the missing children) because that would certainly hurt them. They'll banish you for killing the giant shark, but let you go for sparing it despite the highly illegal mining base the Republic built: sparing it disables the base, maintaining the status quo while killing the shark destroys the kolto.

That's why everyone hates the Selkath. And that's why Manaan goes to shit when bacta(mass producable anywhere, just as effective as kolto) is invented later on.


I'm not sure why the Sith planted the evidence and bribed a witness to falsify testimony, since the Sith already had actual evidence. Maybe to cast doubt on Sunry's self-defense claim - which was already bullshit for the established fact that Sunry is a crippled old man and the victim was a Sith knight?

Woke up after 4 hours.  Thing is I forgot to set the alarm, but I woke up right when I really needed to anyway.  My internal clock has gotten dang impressive.  I also slept so deeply that I actually feel fairly rested.
Gotta prepare a presentation for an unknown time this afternoon, and my throat is sore from two days of meetings, but it's all good.  I have plenty of time.

I'm pretty sure the sore throat is from modulating my voice around the intern.  My normal voice is fairly high for a guy, and when I get nervous it can get pretty bad without me noticing.  So when I meet new people or need to act cool, I consciously speak a little lower to keep it under control.  After two days of meetings, I'm starting to feel the effects.

OH RIGHT and all Sunday I was playing an ogre in DND, so I modulated my voice for *that* too.  Fortunately he got reincarnated (houserules) as a female dwarf, which will be a lot easier on my throat.

Okay enough procrastinating I'm fully awake...

Once again tried to make brownies. While I can now use the oven, there wasn't enough oil to make the brownies. Sooner or later, I'm going to get these damn brownies made.

You can often tell by the writing style or avatars. I hadn't noticed with Cinder but as soon as someone said something it seemed obvious. A few of the others it was more "I swear their username was something different, I must be just misremembering ...."

Playing dwarf fortress, my first game as a peassnt, locally unimportant, rather than a demigod hearthperson.

I met a goblin spearman, and whenever I try to ask him something, I am given the reply options that he would choose.

A conversation going something like this:

Me: Tell me about your family:
Me: I have no family to speak of.
Me: How are you feeling right now?
Me: I'm doing fine.

Am I insane? Is he an eldritch horror? Would even Toady know?

Still, fun to see all the NPC dialogue options.
