You've got a shitty health textbook, that's what.

According to my health textbook, sexting is "inherently wrong by almost any ethical standard". I don't mean to start a nasty or lewd debate, but, erh, what?

Remember kids, if you send someone pictures of your dick, the NSA will see it. And that's terrible.

Does it also claim that sex by itself is inherently wrong unless done strictly for the purpose of recreation? I'd be not surprised if that was the case.

(edit: fixed a stupid typo)

It's also possibly important to note that the humors theory is incorrect and drilling a hole in your head is not an ideal cure for migraines. Not sure how misguided this textbook is, beyond notably.

The claim probably comes from the fact that sexting among young people often (inadvertently) involves child pornography. That's not always the case, however; calling it inherently wrong is simply incorrect without some serious and objective backing.

Well if you can think of a better way to alleviate pressure than to give it a means of escape I'd like to hear it! We deal in science here, sir, not the vague notions of the squeamish.

I remember paging through an old health textbook that mentioned the case of a man who was charged with child pornography because he had nude pictures of his high school girlfriend that police found when they searched his phone in college. It didn't provide any proof that this had occurred (naturally) but it certainly sticks out in my mind now.

:v its not that sexting by itself is bad, its just that a lot of people do it in the most ludicrous and unsafe ways, like uploading their things to facebook or a non private online image hosting database or something, like imgur. This reminds me of that one time my friend warned me about the imgur "hide" function or something. Apparently, when you "hide" a picture on your imgur album, it basically does anything but hide it. It just removes it from your album and disassociates it from your account, meaning you have no real control for it and cannot delete it, but keeps it stored in imgur's database. Supposedly it also removes it from the site's image lists, but the associated direct link to that image keeps working, meaning that if anyone has that link, they can basically do whatever they want with said image.

But yea, I have no idea how sexting can be bad for your health :v, unless you're typing with your gonads or something, in which case its probably a waste of talent.

Not to mention the risk of cyberSTDs! Especially if the platform you're sexting on use C++ or C#, since it's full of std.lib.

The proper term is trepanation.

It is also still performed today, mostly if you are suffering from hematoma and the blood is causing your brain pressure to increase.

Its a bit scary if you consider that trepanation is something humans have been doing for thousands of years, for a multitude of reasons and with varying success. There's even some documented and rather recent cases of self trepanation, done by some people believing that doing so would give them heightened sentience, which makes zero sense. At one point in the past century trepanation became the focus of several new age stuff and weird cults. There's even an obscure and rather dark themed manga about a guy that gets trepanned and then starts having super weird hallucinations, but I seem to have forgotten its name.

I thought it was to let possessing demons out.
