Dynasty Tactics 2 has a really amazing turn-based combat system and I'm very curious why I haven't seen it emerge in other places, like table-top RPGs. D&D 4e has something similiar, but it doesn't have the same run-away combo system where all your characters get what is essentially opportunity attacks but on offense, and each strike during the same combo get progressively stronger. Combined with the fact that each of these opportunity attacks can also move your characters, enemy characters, inflict special effects, and you get a super-strategic system that rewards correct positioning extremely and seems to rival anything I've seen in other tactical games.

EDIT: Hell, you can even combo buffs with each other and they'll have an increasingly stronger effect the longer your combo is! What an awesome system. Why wasn't it stolen re-implemented by anyone else???

I did. I bought an Italian melt, it's pretty good.

Doesn't look like it was a robbery. If it was, they recovered pretty damn quick, and that might be worse than if they hadn't.

Wakfu/Dofus I think might have something slightly similar.
But it's French, so who knows.

Dofus/Wakfu do offer a similar if not superior level of tactical options that interact in a similar way, but your control over it is much more dimished since you're only actualy controlling your own character, since its an MMO and etc. So it might not float sergarr's boat, but its a decent game regardless. I have a level 100 osamodas on wakfu still but I haven't played in quite a while because I simply have no one to play with atm, and they changed how summon based osamodas works and I have no idea how to play my character now

Never played Wakfu, only Dofus- which had a very lenient policy on dualboxing.
The first character I made was the new eliotrope, who's mechanic revolves around placing portals all over the tactical map.
It annoyed the hell out of everyone.

Are eliatropes in dofus too? I played dofus like, forever ago, before the 2.0 patch and masqueraiders/rogues. I recently played a bit of wakfu to check the eliatropes and they have some pretty interesting abilities as well as insane mobility with portals.

Apparently they're making the OSA summons temporary, and with summoning sickness meaning they cant do anything in the turn they're summoned, which limits the power of summon osa quite a bit, so I'm not sure what to do right now. I might just take the restat and make the osa into a dragon osa or something, or just make a new character, or not play at all since I have nobody to play with and wakfu/dofus are the kind of games that are a lot more fun with people then soloing :v
