I jumped on Kerbal today for the first time in ages, and the navball is COVERED IN BUTTONS.
Where did all of these come from? The wiki says NOTHING.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Why do MLA citations have to be so stupid and obtuse? Not a single teacher or professor I've seen has been able to do it from memory, they need a guide or an online generator. There's a few different versions, and no two professors can agree to use just one of those (when they're even using it properly, as opposed to some made-up gobbledygook they call "MLA"). Besides that, it's mostly unreadable to somebody who doesn't already know it. Why can't it be something like this?

Quote
Title: Some Title
Author: Some Author
Publisher: Some Publisher
URL (if applicable): www.bluh.info
Volume (if applicable): 9001
Year: 20XX

etc.

No bullshit with which ones get bolded, which ones get quotation marks, which ones get italicized, so on and so forth. Just plainly list what something is, instead of italicizing it and expecting a reader to know what that means.

Because that would be too easy and actually make sense!

Rigor builds character.

I can buy that for something like building a house or getting your first job, but the only things MLA have built for me are frustration and red marks on my essay.

http://www.personalitypage.com/high-level.html
This one is on a sickening level of warm fuzzy positivity...

.... Most shoot-off websites hosting the MBTI stuff speak in absolutes, leaning toward the positive side...  Like they are saying: 'Yes, this is your personality, but, this description here is the ideal form of your given personality.'
Urgh, my lord. The descriptions of all of those are general and wide enough that they could apply to anyone sans the mutually exclusive parts (Interested in leading vs. Not interested in leading.)

Ah Myers-Briggs. Better that Scientology or Unicru, but not by enough.

* Tiruin bops the Myers-Briggs online tests.
Y'all know that its...not really a -definitive- unless actually guided by someone aiding the performance of those tests, right?
That's why we've got psychological interviews/counseling sessions after a test is performed ._.
...And not just online self-tests. Those are more for personal awareness.

No, they're for self-aggrandizing, like online IQ tests that give you 100 if you utterly failed to answer a single question correctly.

ahaha every description of ENFP reads like a cult leader

anyway what's with the tendency in fanfiction for people to automatically say a character is a mary sue the instant they have a single victory that the original character didn't, even if said victory makes sense given context?
It's the same reason why people call utterly serious assholes 'trolls'.

Yeah, they overhauled the entire aerodynamics model and added shock heating (responsible for those re-entry effects) meaning that it's easier to go hypersonic, but it's also easier to overheat and undergo rapid unplanned disassembly.

It's probably for the same reason which makes people worship canon and give thousands of likes for inserting random references.

Basically judging things not by their own merits, but by the famousness of their creator. Not famous = must not be able to have nice things.

EDIT: new WTF of a day: things that, according to probability theory, have infinite expected value, but are always finite in actual value that you get at every step.

EDIT2: my NEW WTF of a day:
Sergarr, have you ever adjusted your phones clock, basing it off the universities clock? :P
Yes?

The problem is not the discrepancy (it existed for a long time), but it was much, much smaller. Like, it was in the area of three minutes just last year. Now, it's 10 minutes, and I haven't actually adjusted my phone since the last year so something fishy is going on.
Now, the discrepancy is about two minutes.

what the fuck

Rigor builds character.
Shut up, Calvin's dad.

I also suspect the Myers-Briggs test is flawed simply because it classifies roughly 90% of people who take it as INTJ or INTP.
