Dickgirls aren't as bad as guro.
Unless one is a weenie who isn't confident in their sexuality and have to shame others on their preference by calling what they like disgusting even though they are real irls with dicks and they just act like that's aberrant because they are too ignorant to consider what said person go through and how much self-esteem problems people like that get due to assholes like them.
Erm...
Bad day? Kev's comment just really pissed you off? I dunno, just throwing that out there.
Perhaps a hug is in order

I mean I wasn't going to say anything, but if you use the word "dickgirl" enough someone is going to get offended, its not exactly a nice word.

A while ago I was watching this documentary about weird dangerous cults on youtube, that was apparently originally showcased on the National Geographic Chanel, and they didn't properly cut the commercials out, so at one point during the documentary there is a commercial cut of a small boy saying something like "(something) takes alice and jenkins to see your po" at this point the commercial gets cut and changes immediately to a cut version of the guy saying "national geographic", except it was cut so the only thing left was the guy saying "graphic".

So it was basically like, a small child saying something about taking kids to see something, then serious man voice interrupting it, just saying "graphic".
I dont know, it was kind of odd and disturbing :v

Because that's how modern manufacturing works? Generally when a company makes a product, they get the things they need to make that product from other companies, because those other companies have the resources in place to make the stuff much better and/or cheaper than the first company could make in-house. Vertical integration takes work, yo.
Definitely this.

There are many economies of scale at work. Think of all the specialists you'd need to make methanol, and the separate supply chains, safety and handling instructions for your workers for all the raw ingredients, and the cost of the equipment. One huge plant will definitely be cheaper than many small plants with the same total output. And the small users probably won't max out their methanol production capacity all the time, meaning each firm adds up a little wasted capacity.

Then don't forget that a single company making the stuff can negotiate supply with all possible suppliers, whereas individual companies making methanol separately won't really be able to have staff who specialize in negotiating over all the raw materials.

It's like how some companies churn out hundreds of millions of resistors a year, I suppose. Methanol is just another part in the grand scheme, like resistors are, but perhaps slightly less intuitively.

Its also technically illegal (in my country) to have a vertical monopoly, not that those sort of laws count for much any more.  If they ever did.

"less intuitively"? I don't know, resource production companies (methanol is so simple it's basically a resource) having a very big "economy of scale" effect is very intuitive to me. After all, if it was false, then how would dedicated steel production factories survive?

Well, it feels weirder for a company to only produce methanol, as opposed to a company only producing resistors, though such companies also tend to produce other simple electronic parts like tranasitors and capacitors and LEDs...

I never said it was false, and clearly someone other thanme thought it felt weird too.

Also steel production facilities make multiple types of steel so it again doesn't feel as unintuitive. Again, only my opinion.

Start watching episodes of Taggart. You'll start understanding the dialogue by season 3 or so...

There was a Spring Fling event today. I came in to work expecting the worst, but it wasn't bad. There wasn't much of a crowd, until I brought out a pan of funnel cake. I went back inside for another pan, and saw the crowd had tripled, all wanting funnel cake.

When it came time to clean up, my supervisor had the foresight to toss out the lids on the cans of chafing gel, which the instructs say to use to put them out. Then my supervisor has the idea to pour water on them. Not like chafing gels has the consistency of napalm or anything. When lighting them, she had the idea of lighting one and trying pour the flaming gel in the others to light those, but we got most of them lit before she had that idea.

I bought a new keyboard, and got one with American keys because I figured it wouldn't be a big deal. It turns out that they have one fewer key on their keyboards though. Just a shift straight to the left of z, and everything else shuffled around so that there's no key for £.
Why even America. Why.

I mean the keyboard is still mapped to a UK one, so I can still type the same so long as I don't want to type a \ or a |

Grak, looking at my keyboard, I have a key in the same place you're talking about. (Canadian)

Of course, it's not the pound symbol, it's a | \ key, which I have an almost identical one next to my enter key. The difference is that the alt-keys for the shift key are double arrows, while the enter key are single arrows.

I have a pound symbol on my numberline 3 key, but despite having an Fn key and it being the same colour, I can't figure out how to type it.

Basically, the answer is "Fucking international keyboards are fucking weird and half the options don't even work, do you really expect the birth-place of keyboards to make any MORE sense?!"
