I don't see how Paldins and Monks are even remotely similar. Monks don't have alignment restrictions, they have a completely different power source, they use completely different stats, Paladins wear heavy armor and Monks wear none...

Monks don't even need a religion. They are not similar in any way.

In Pathfinder, monks must be any lawful alignment. Similarly, a paladin can only be lawful good in PF.

That's about the only overlap I can see. The next closest thing I could think of would be a paladin's spells and a monk's ki abilities, which is one hell of a stretch.

Some of us have the misfortune of having notably light sensitive eyes. Sunlight hurts. Physically. Sunglasses only help so much.

Also it is hot, and the last thing a swamp needs is more heat.

They are both classes that gain their powers through the exemplification of their alignment.

Paladins through being the lawful good paragons of their alignment... and Monks through their dutiful mastering of the internal forces within themselves.

Monks aren't even "exemplification of their alignment". It's just fluff. It's like saying Bards are the same as paladins because they are the exemplification of the nonlawful alignment.
