I was under the impression that their plan was to do a 180 from the 3.5 and 4E business model of shitting out as many books as possible, as often as possible. To be honest, I'm not sure how they could possibly have convinced Hasbro to run with "The books will be ready when they're ready, dammit", but that's what I heard. Then again, "Bauglir heard it from some dude on the Internet" is not exactly a reliable source.

Goddamn it, I thought that was serious for a second. It's so easy to lose track of time when you're a demon made of pure rage, with today's being the internet dropping out every five seconds since yesterday on two different networks that are generally stable.

This is what I've heard as well.

And to be honest, what's in the PHB and DMG for 5e is roughly equivalent to the 3.5e DMG, PHB, and 2-4 splatbooks. It's already more than enough content to do a lot of things, and at most I'd expect to see 2-3 splatbooks in the same condensed format.

... y'know, I ran in to a disturbingly well written fanfic involving basically just that, several years back. Like this really goddamn weird horror/erotica/humor(?) thing where a character basically became a balloon person and then (fairly fucked up) stuff happened. It was a helluva' thing. Entirely too well constructed for what it was.

I was honestly expecting discussion of balloon insertion + inflation/substituting balloons for condoms. Glad to know that's not the case this time around.

Parents got the third Night at the Museum movie that came out a while back off of Netflix, and it was a lot more "meh" than I'd expected.

There were some arc words that never went anywhere, there was a completely gratuitous "comedic romance" subplot between two rather annoying characters, the special effects jumped between "woah, neat" and "dude I could photoshop better than that", there was a shoehorned in subplot about the main character's son and what his dad wants for him, there was a massive idiot ball moment at the end, and to top it all off, an emotive scene at the end that could've done the whole film better was immediately ruined by the following scene, which completely subverted everything that had just happened.

I'm not really sure why I posted this or posted it here, but nobody who had seen the film with me wanted to discuss it and I needed somebody to rant to.
