soooo Linus is kind of a douche though, and let me briefly say why.

1 group of people was working together to create a new operating system. it was called GNU, which stands for GNU's Not Unix. It was initially based on UNIX. they created absolutely every part of the operating system EXCEPT the kernal. all the kernal does is control what gets loaded when, that's basically it. It's none of the functionality. they're notoriously difficult to code because they're so detached and abstract. then, In blunders linus who goes "hey, I heard you where making an open source operating system so I made a kernal and I call it Linux-- it's totally just my name smashed into unix because i'm an egotistical bastard, and I made sure it was compatible with all of your GNU stuff so everyone is going to be lazy and use my kernal that I slapped together with what you guys have been working on for years and years now, and I'm gonna get all the fucking credit because they're going to call all of your work linux as well because people are dumbasses"

I agree clickbaity titles are awful, but beyond that, I've learned quite a bit from it. And have had a lot of good laughs, so I'd say the good far outweighs the bad.
