John Green is kind of a ehhh person tbh. His history facts videos are either completely obvious stuff you learn quicker by researching yourself over google or (sometimes) weird history revisionism and some senseless rants about motivations behind historical figures. In all honesty, he was pretty "eh" even before writing that obvious pile of edgy trash that was "the fault in our stars".

His dating advice videos are also pretty cringe worthy.

I know nothing of his brother though, but I have no motivation to waste my time on middle aged guy jokes.

Now I know why I recognise the name. I have a friend who met him one time and she thinks he's super great and tried to get me to care about how great he is.

He's a middle aged guy that acts and talks like a 23 year old history student that just learned a few new words. Its no wonder kids like him, but seriously, anyone who actualy has a basic grasp of world history, science, literature and social interaction should find him totally dull, IE anyone over 16.

Oddly enough, this is not the first time I've encountered the concept of setting a Tickle Me Elmo on fire. Scott Adams (the creator of Dilbert) has a book which discusses his theory of humor being derived from various combinations of Cuteness, Meanness, Naughtiness, Recognizability, Cleverness, and Bizarreness; Setting a Tickle-Me-Elmo on fire is given as a possible example of combining cuteness with meanness.

The Fault in Our Stars is one hundo percent overrated. Not garbage, but I didn't like any of the characters and the whole thing was a hell of a lot less profound than it thought it was.

I never saw the movie, I read the book. Not of my own free will, really, mind you.

I saw the movie (with a female friend, mind you) but never read the book. It was okay I guess, but I probably wouldn't go looking for it or movies similar to it on my own time.

I liked Crash Course World History and his video on gender and sexuality (which is good as a short introduction to both topics but doesn't even barely scratch the surface of either.)

Otherwise I like Hank Green more with SciShow and whatnot.

I should add that this is all I've seen of his work, and I liked it too.

The rest just seemed kinda... meh.
