Watching some kids' show about money. I'm seeing some pretty major inaccuracies here. It stated something as a financial goal that was actually a financial plan, suggested that it was possible to make $100 an hour, and had a timeline of various media of trade, starting with barter to wampum shells(first currency), Roman(?) coins as first coinage, and modern European bills as first paper currency(China beat them by centuries on that).

It's because he's a friend who has been wanting to run a campaign for a long time.

If only he read rules and abilities fully. Or not complain about there being too many units when the DM has two characters of his own.

Besides, he is still not the worst DM I've had. Third worst at worst.

We're at level 20. We started at level 18, and are using mythic tiers to increase in power instead of running your usual level one-to-whatever adventure. This is because it is a continuation of a campaign we just finished that went from one-to-eighteen, with all the same characters, but a different DM. The first DMPC was his PC from the previous campaign, and is a full-caster type character. The second DMPC is new, and a bard. The bard does nothing much useful in combat other than perform, but eats up a lot of role-play.

The DM has never had much success in the way of balancing previous campaigns he ran, so throwing a high party count and a high level campaign together only makes it worse. Either combat is stupidly tedious or ends in one round.

I've seen DMPCs work fine, but that's because of the DM being able to have a character without actually using them in an overpowering way, such as having them be a support-type class, like a cleric, rather than a wizard with literally every spell. The current DM shoots himself in the foot more often than not because he literally metagames against himself.

Also, he knows damn well that if he goes overboard and horrifically murders half the party like he did in the last campaign we ran with him, we probably won't run another with him again.

I once had a D&D game where the DMPC had a wizard mess with him somehow (I think either knocking him out or altering his memory or something).  The party barbarian thought that meant he would turn on us, and we were very low level so the barbarian was legitimately dangerous.

Long story short, it descended into a PvP fight over whether we would kill the unconscious DMPC.

I'm utterly baffled as to why he would ban two-hander strength bonus when a much more trivial thing like a Wizard 20 or Cleric 20 utterly breaks the game in half by either bending the reality to his whim or being flat-out better at everything than everyone else.

Usually our DM that runs cleric/oracle/etc. focuses purely on healing. His healing output is awesome, though he rarely ever goes to hit anything once we get past the first few levels.

Though for some reason he's only allowed to use his burst spells to heal the party. I don't know why, since his channels should be harming some of the enemies we come across, but the new DM won't allow the damage.
