It's like the person who wrote the documentation for this project and the person who wrote the "project templates" were two different people who had absolutely no communication other than "here's the project name"... and they were written by the same person. It's like, do you even bother to read what you are telling us to do when you made up the basis that we are required to use to do it? Seriously.

How do you tell if someone likes you?

There are several things to look for. Not all of them are always relevant, but paying attention to this kind of thing is good to do. For example:

-They copy your body language without realizing it.
-When girls talk to someone they like, they tend to use a higher-pitched voice. Guys tend to talk with lower voices than usual.
-They tend to turn towards you a bit.

There are a few others, but I can't remember them.

What I meant is that if you're unsure, it's better the assume that they don't and then rectify it.

Don't give them gifts, though. They likely won't appreciate it, because they are a self-centered asshole who can't see anyone except himself.

I've had to ask how much a water bottle costs because they never put a price tag on it, it was about 3 bucks.

What I meant is that if you're unsure, it's better the assume that they don't and then rectify it.

Snipping the 'obviously too close to home' stuff, I also agree it's better to assume against. I've been burned before by assuming people had a crush on me, and depending on their maturity level it could shred the entire friendship to bits and result in you two never speaking again.
But y'know, no pressure. I may be letting my horrible life-experiences adversely affect my advice.

I was discussing the two Star Trek movies with a friend and I just kind of realized something.

It is surprisingly racist... in fact possible even more then the original show and it has the excuse of "For the time"

They turned a character who specifically did not use a samurai sword in the original so as not to be "Asian" and gave him a Katana... even though his special skill is FENCING not KENDO.

Then they changed a sort of Latino/Spanish character and made him as white as the fresh fallen snow.

Then they made what was already a token black character for the show and made her the typical "shallow love interest" who exists only for sex appeal because she does absolutely nothing of concequence... LESS then the actual character on the show... and made sure she made out with all the white male leads.

Along with making fun of other cultures a lot more then the original series did.

I mean we still have Big Bang Theory, the show that told us that 'all' of India smells like Cow shit... and it isn't Family guy where the racist jokes are meant to be shock humor...

Or the US never got less racist/sexist and it was just chauvinistic outward displays of racism/sexism which became unpopular.

This is pretty much it. ToS was remarkable for its time simply because it had a diverse, multiracial cast all interacting as equals on the set. It's rather sad that something which was noteworthy for being racially accepting and tolerant in '60s and '70s television still stands out for the same reasons now.

While coming to the library, my bike(which I was walking instead of riding) slipped from my hand, breaking one of the zip-ties holding the basket on. While trying to replace it, I accidentally broke the front reflector. Dammit it, I'd buy a new one, but a new bicycle costs $200 and up for some reason.
