... I'll admit, though, most of the really hard metal just sounds kinda' terrible to me. Like, "I'd rather be listening to noise music" displeasing (though that's not necessarily a point against, since I actually kinda' like some noise music pieces). Something about the vocals, generally...
This made me think about what it is I like about some of the extreme metal I listen to. Dillinger Escape Plan or Meshuggah for example. ...I don't know. I can't really say what specifically I like about it. Meshuggah has some great rhythms, and Dillinger has...um...shining moments of musicality thrown in with the noise. "Milk Lizard" or "One of Us is the Killer", made by the same band that made "Prancer".

I think I just got used to the sound. It's a different form of music and that's what keeps me coming back to listen to it occasionally, I guess.

Black metal or death metal is definitely not my thing though. Nile, for example, is too extreme.

I think it says a lot about my current lucidity level that "lizard-warming infrared wavelengths" struck me as hilarious.

Black metal or death metal is definitely not my thing though. Nile, for example, is too extreme.

I actually kind of like the black metal singing style, but the trouble is that once you get to the extremes of speed and distortion even the slightest lack of skill suddenly screws the whole rhythm and turns it into noise.

Is that from an actual doujin manga or is it some westerner written thing? Just one line written in English doesn't really give any context.

If it is from a manga, wtf are you doing reading futanari hentai touhou doujins then getting surprised that they have weird shit in them?

But I don't think unlicensed scatalogical fan art really says anything about Japan. You can find the same kinds of thing on DeviantArt or  anywhere. And I wouldn't say that necessarily says anything about Western culture. Doujins are not actually released works, they're fan creations which are self-printed in small runs (maybe just a few copies) so that they don't come under scrutiny of copyright laws. They sell those copies to the 1-2 other people who are interested in Japan.
I didn't go looking for that, I was handed the link without being told what it was.

I have no context, and can answer no questions. All I can do is gawk in amazement at the incredible density of WTF in the excerpt - the only words that don't ramp it up are components of discrete multi-word notions that do. It's probably unfair to blame Japan generally, it is true.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Apparently there was an ANTI-A.I. rally... just.... all of my *facepalm*
Ooooh, AI. What were they rallying about?

Late, but basically it was a bunch of people saying stuff like "humans are the future, not robots" "Nay-I." etc. Basically just a bunch of people who JUST NOW saw Terminator for the first time.
The article I read about it (I basically just clicked on something that popped up on the Bing frontpage) offered little else other then that supposedly both Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking are Anti- A.I. which is just sad.

Shun! SHUN! SHUNNED!

I mean, obviously.

I probably shouldn't be on the forums when I'm tired. I'll make what I think is a funny joke and horribly offend someone. So, uh, apologies in advance if I do that.

The only metal I really like is Rainbowdragoneyes' stuff, I got used to the metal lyrics just to appreciate the amazing chiptunes and ended up appreciating the lyrics as well :P

... fairly sure an instrument's spelling is determined by its construction, not what celestial object it's from.

Lier is a municipality (and town) in belgium, apparently. In which case D probably might want to consider a diet, if they're of a size to be mistaken for notable geographical features.

They could also be someone attempting an ambush, I guess...
