Watching this one story where people are stuck in this murderous haunted house and one of the girls needs to go pee...

If a horror has intelligent protagonists, it's called psychological horror. :I

I think the idea is that a common horror movie create an environment that will temporarily scare the audience when they are caught in the movie magic, but won't stay with them afterwards. (i.e. comedy horrors like Scream)

While psychological horrors shows you how futile it is to fight, and leave you imagining how fucked you would be in that situation.
