What's really funny about that game is how countries will SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING and develop a vaccine to eradicate your disease from the face of the earth... over the sniffles.

I've gone through a game with literally no symptoms. First thing I did was get rid of them. Everyone still freaked out when I started to spread the disease.

The basic gist is that unless you actually go out and do something, or join up with someone who is known to have done something. There is virtually no chance that anyone is going to be willing to spend the resources to dig things up on you when they could be spending them to dig up stuff on the people who are either known bad guys or known collaborators of bad guys. It's like the princeton student who designed an atomic bomb design from publicly available sources at his college, the government didn't do anything at all until he published a term paper on it.

More than that, it's that if at some point in the future you become involved in a high-profile case (criminal or civil), run for public office, act as a whistleblower, &c., people are going to dig. It's good practice to keep everything even slightly questionable that you do hidden, but it's better to leave out crumbs that are spicy enough to convince searchers that they've found your skeletons without being so bad (in terms of what's acceptable to be known to the general public) that your life can survive it being smeared across the media.

Paranoia, of course, but the healthy sort.

I swear I want to punch my asshat roommate in the throat. He is basically the literal living manifestation of everything I find annoying and unlikeable in a person, right down to the personality quirk of him not being able to realize how utterly annoying and bitchy and immature he really is as compared to how "awesome" he thinks he is.

The other guy isn't as bad. He's just a lazy shit who's skipping all his classes and plays games all night and sleeps all day. Why are you even at college then.

Can't wait until this semester is done and I don't need to deal with their shit anymore. Everything they do annoys me. Everything. Even the sound of their breathing annoys me. Living alone has never seemed so appealing.
