It shows as many as 44 percent of female students experienced some form of sexual violence or unwanted sexual touching while attending the university.
There is just something about that statistic that just kind of bugs me...
It just seems so similar to that statistic about Florists who experienced some form of attempted murder or unwanted aggression while attending university.
these numbers are beyond suspiciously low.
Well think about how many times you called the university when someone touched you sexually.
Which at my highschool happened at least 20 times to me individually... and I never really told any authorities once.
Naturally the number of crimes to reports are going to be lower for multiple reasons... and at university if it was serious I'd just call the police and not the school... and even then it would have to be something more then
-Someone punching me
-Someone oddly rubbing me O_o?
-Someone hitting on me as a cruel joke in front of their friends (By the way not interested, the joke isn't funny when I am not interested.)
Though I did tell when a girl tried to light my hair on fire... as a joke.
Apparently some guys were making pervy jokes on Facebook, and that counts as hatred of women now.
While I would love to go into detail Bay12 are not quite mature enough to get into a lengthy discussion due to their propensity to try to polarize discussions.
But in this case they were being tasteless in a very "creepy" manner... In a public forum... With something that is a very hot button issue.
And this is the same world where one person said "I'll kill you" as a joke in a private discussion and he got arrested. So I think this is a bit more grounded.
Think of it like the "Jews in an Oven" Joke people make. It is funny, well to others I find it a bit jovial, because it is far removed from your current reality that it is laughable black humor. This is making fun of something that is currently the "Dark looming threat" that is constantly being drilled into people's heads ALL THE TIME!!! Of course people are going to take it seriously. In the same way that the Oven joke would be taken more seriously in a community that genuinely fears someone will drive by, kidnap jews, and throw them in an oven.
Or rather it is less funny because people genuinely believe that there are men in there that believe that it is justified or will outright attempt the things they are joking/musing about.
And thus if you take that premise. These men are advocating the kidnapping and harm of women, because it isn't a joke. Which can easily be put in the definition of "Hatred of women"
