Spoiler: Besiege (click to show/hide)
What am I even doing.
What game is that?
... Beseige.
Never heard of it, what kind of game is it? Besides something I could spend hours on.

Basically build your own siege engine. Kind of like KSP in medieval times, except instead of incidental hilarious destruction, hilarious destruction is the entire point of the game.

-snip-
I assume that means In School Suspension.  Whatever the hell that means...
It's basically where you get locked in a room for a day with a teacher instead of having school, if the various slackers I've overheard are any indication.
From the only one I've had, yes. Although mine was locked in the office all day having to do classwork instead of having school.

In my case it was locked in a room to be verbally and physically assaulted by the teacher who may have been a failed drill instructor.

ISS was an excuse to sleep all day.  The work was more subpar than usual, judging from my 1 experience with it

I got ISS in middle school once (they didn't call it that, of course). I actually appreciated it as a chance to get work done in a time period where I would otherwise have to do activities and listen to teachers talking.

There's also a joke about a shitty game to be made here.

Overheard some people talking about D&D before class. Kind of odd to hear it outside of a game or game group though.

They were arguing about which class makes the best healer. One of them argued that it was the barbarian, as they felt barbarians are one of the best classes and can potentially heal themselves while they rage through a few different rage powers. Killing enemies is apparently the best healing method, as it means less overall damage dealt that has to be healed.

They aren't wrong, I guess. But by that metric, they would be about tied with paladins, because of their lay-on-hands generally being more efficient than rage-healing, as it doesn't have as many conditions to be activated.

Barbarian rage? Healing? Barbarian rage doesn't really heal, it adds hit points, but unlike any other temporary hit points in the game after you finish raging you also lose that many hitpoints. (Although I think I remember it being possible though one prestige class, most barbarians can't make other people rage ether, so it's not like they can heal others.) Although it is true that killing people is generally better then healing (except for maybe the heal spell), so at low levels at least that would make the barbarian good at 'healing'. The paladin lay on hands sucks for anything more then stopping people from bleeding out. A Crusader from the Book of nine swords is pretty good at healing at low levels, with their strikes that deal damage and heal (thus being far more action efficient then clerics). Out of battle it's any class that can use a wand of lesser vigor.

Notable mention is the dread necromancer, who can heal any undead in the party or anyone with the Tomb-tainted Soul feat, infinitely and for free.

Paladins get better as they level. Still not much compared to a dedicated healer, but I prefer it over temporary points. Plus with mercies they can cure various conditions, which is nice.

Though with a barbarian, you can get feats and powers that allow you to gain more points when certain conditions are met while raging. You can get crazy amounts of extra hit points if the conditions are right.

Though a proper dedicated healer character will be preferable to any character that just heals on the side. Not that dedicated healing is always necessary. It depends on a lot of factors within the group. In my current group the cleric rebuilt his character because his build focused completely on healing and ended up having way more than necessary.

They were going back and forth between Pathfinder and AD&D, but it was mostly Pathfinder oriented.

It's what I'm most used to, personally. My group uses D&D and PF too interchangeably, I think.

That's not true, there are plenty of differences.

Like Paladins lay on hands.

And apparently if Barbarians can heal people.
