I dunno, but I really hate how people keep telling kids that everyone is special and unique and a wonderful addition to the world. It's blatantly not true. Not everyone is going to the moon, or make a popular video game, or conquer several nations before the age of thirty. Most people are just going to be normal people, and that's okay.

I *think* the main point of Syndrome is hating superheroes and wanting to wipe them out, while also wanting to be one, in both cases because he's jealous.  Selling his inventions would be a last "fuck you", because after killing them he would erase the concept that they stood for.

If you want to know a secret the 'left' Democratss and 'right' Republicans really ham up their differences to get more done the way they want.

The names of American political parties are my WTF for today. They're both redundant, seeing as the country already is a republic and (ostensibly, at least) a democracy.

The names are related to the era they originated in. The Democrats were a splinter of the Democratic-Republican party formed in the 1790s to oppose the Federalist party, which supported a strong federal government that dominated the states. The name was chosen to demonstrate the "populist" notion of the party in contrast to the increasingly aristocratic and anti-democratic (due to the excesses of the French Revolution, there was a pronounced terror of "mob rule" growing in the era) bent of the Federalists. By 1824, schisms within the party led to it breaking into the Democrats and the National Republicans (later the Whigs.)

The Republican party (which evolved from the Whigs), chose the name to emphasize their "Liberty for all" platform (the party was largely abolitionist) and their notion that the free market (which they encouraged by giving away free land) was the ultimate expression of the ideals behind a republic. It also hearkened back to the old Democratic-Republican party, which was often called the "Jeffersonian Republican" party.
