Yeah, most people who don't know you don't have any particular beef with you. Therefore little to no motivation to cause unpleasantness to you. This is why hermits are the safest people. Especially if they herm in a undergound bunker or somesuch. Or Switzterland.

The real lesson here is that the only people you should rely on are strangers.  If you know someone, RUN AWAY.
Aren't there actual statistics saying that people are more at risk from people they know then total strangers when it comes to this sort of thing?

Not just this; pretty much across the board. Random aggression/crime is relatively rare; if somebody's going to cause you problems, almost always it's going to be somebody you know. As this case ironically and unintentionally highlights.

Not murder though. If we exclude the "unknown" murderers (which constitute 44% of murders reported to the FBI), then 22% of the known murders are total strangers, and 32% are "acquaintances" (i.e. people that live or work near you but you don't actually know, like the mailman, garbage man, the guy who cleans up your neighbor's lawn, all of the gang members of that guy's gang, etc.), for a total of 54% of "known" murders by people you don't really know, while only 46% of them are known to be family/friends.

"acquaintance" is a pretty large category.

Since a lot of the time a kidnapper will "scope" out an area.

So if the kidnapper gives a kid candy for example, with hopes to see if he can kidnap them later, BOOM! Acquaintance.

Story driven games do not always translate to good. I've heard that Final Fantasy themed movie didn't do so well.

Advent Children? I fucking hate FF7, but it was pretty as all get-out and had decent fight choreography.

They're probably refering to FF: Spirits Within. Advent Children was pretty cool even though I never played FF7. But the first FF movie was widely panned.

For some reason the site Fanfiction.net has the '503 Service Unavailable: No server is available to handle this request.' error whenever I try to do anything on the profile, but the rest of the site is completely fine.

I find it hilarious when companies complain about losing sales due to Piracy when it was because people actually saw how bad it is, told people how bad it was, and then no one saw it because no one would have to be the test monkey for the product.

Honestly if you have a bad product you deserve bad sales... To play the "piracy is evil" card because the pirates actually informed the public better then you did is laughable.

'Bad' is entirely an opinion. And besides, does that mean that if you say someones work is shit, then they just don't deserve to sell it for much? Seems a bit douchey, to me.
