Children's shows are horrifying.  These days they're straight screwy, but they still have plenty of horror in them.
  If it helps most children can't grasp that kind of thing.  Its just plot advancements.

It's weird because I remember a lot of these except I'm pretty sure I didn't think anything of them at the time.

From what I've heard, the books progressed in real time and often had occurrences based on real events since the writer was a massive train geek. This inevitably lead to horror once we started phasing out steam engines.

School system is weird here, too. There's no such thing as high school freshmen here, because high school starts at grade 10 instead of 9. Likewise, middle school starts at grade 7 instead of 6.

And you know your town is rural when there is only one McDonald's and one Burger King nearby. Though I do live within driving distance of Dollywood.

There's only one Burger King in my entire county, and it's not a very good one. Conversely, I think to be legally defined as a town you have to have at least one McDonald's.

Probably found the source. Seems to be a manga called Kangoku Gakuen. Plot is basically that 5 boys are transferred to what was originally an all girl school. Looks like it's choc full of ecchi and bound for some kind of harem plot so it's probably complete trash. That one panel is hilarious though.

It's actually not a harem manga. And it is halfway decent. Which is surprising, I know.
