So, Joe is learning the 3.5 DnD, as dictated by a video game.  But is not understanding the bug deal with clerics and domain spells.   If any cleric with a decent wisdom is going to get those spells at the same time any other cleric would, why do I care?  Is it because I could dump wisdom to its bare minimal and still get that spell (To make room for the uber-cleric, of course )?

Domain spells have three main advantages. First, there's an extra spell slot for domain spells, giving you a "free" spell. Second, many spells are lower-level as domain spells than they are as cleric spells (for example, Wind Wall is Cleric 3, but Air 2, so you get it an entire spell level early if you have the Air domain.) Finally, domain spells are often spells clerics don't get at all otherwise, such as Gaseous Form (which is Sorcer/Wizard, Bard, or Air Domain only.)

How well whatever game you're playing models that, I don't know.

Also, the domain comes with another advantage, depending on which one you pick; an extra ability.
But yes, it's extra spell slots and earlier spells in those domains.

SF peninsula weather is pretty crazy right now. 40 MPH constant winds. SFO Airport is havig to redirect flights in crazy ways, leading to some intense approach patterns low down, right over my house.

Fun fact: At one point, Edmonton had the highest murder rate in Canada. Think about that for a moment. Edmonton is far smaller then cities like Quebec or Toronto or Vancouver. Still had highest murder rate. Although I think Quebec surpassed us? Can't remember. And I'd say this belongs in the terrified thread. I know I am.

Not really analogous. Detroit is at least two or three times too large (area wise) for the population it has, which has resulted in large areas of abandoned buildings and a tax base too small to support the police force needed to patrol the area. This, combined with massive unemployment, results in massive gang activity.

There are quite a few pockets of nice neighborhoods, actually. It's not the entire city that's in the shitter, just the parts with no people. Downtown is nice, too.

But yeah, it's way too big for its own good.
